Anxiety and mental health often seem like such complicated subjects.
Especially since most of us were never taught how to manage or use our mind, and so our minds are often the ones using us….day in and day out.
PS. Do you want a step-by-step, day-by-day program that shows you how to decrease stress, lower social anxiety and rewire your mind? Check out my masterclass here.
If you’ve stumbled across my work you should know well my go-to advice for managing anxiety. The best most credible data states basic elements of life: food, sleep, exercise, and stress are important to nail down to manage your mind.
I’m a big believer in meditation, expressing gratitude, and really anything that helps with mental health in any way.
BUT…
As you may know, these things aren’t instant.
Just because you ate a salad doesn’t mean your anxiety is cured.
Just because you meditated once doesn’t mean you are immune to stress.
What is the most instantaneous?
Regulating what we have direct control of at any given time….
What do you have control over?
Your Thoughts? No.
Your Emotions? Nope.
Your Breath? Yes!
Your ability to either consciously breathe OR not think about it and let your subconscious take control is our superpower.
At any moment you can use this ability to consciously focus on your breath.
What happens when you focus entirely on your breath?
Everything else, your thoughts, emotions, stresses, shut off.
Not permanently of course, but for a limited amount of time. During that period of time, you experience your calm true self slip in quietly. Use that moment to take advantage of that motivation to set you up for success.
