Mental Health Epidemic Stopping People from Being Themselves
This misconception keeps people stuck for years..
ā£I faced extreme shyness & social anxiety yet didn't know it and hid under societyās label of just being a good quiet āintrovert.ā ā
Don't get me wrong being an introvert is a very real thing.
But it has almost nothing to do with how shy you are in front of other people. ā
Some of us just have more introverted brains...ā
The real problem I'm trying to highlight here is society says that the person sitting alone is doing so because he or she is a quiet introvert.
I speak about this topic in-depth in my TEDx talk āThe Mental Health Epidemic Stopping People from Being Themselvesā watch here.
While that person could be right or wrong. ā
That person could also have social anxiety and actually deep down want to talk to people but their brain & nervous system doesnāt let them. ā
If youāre shy but donāt want to be anymore...ā
Get on the path of learning how to get out of it. Extreme shyness just hurts you because the world doesnāt gain anything when you are silent.
Social anxiety is the most common anxiety condition in America. Yet itās the most correlated with substance abuse & social isolation which is also tightly correlated to suicide...ā
Let that sink in.
